Last rites for Steve Augustus Bond were conducted from the Chapel of Oliver Funeral Home Monday, December 6. Rev. Percy Moore officiated assisted by Rev. C. E. Burden.
Mr. Bond suffered a fatal heart attack Sunday, December 5 at his residence in Winona.

Mr. Bond was born in Attala County, July 3, 1902 and was married to Mrs. Kathryn Johnson Gooch. He was owner of B & B Taxi Company.

He is survived by his wife; one step-son, Maurice L. Gooch both of Winona; five sisters, Mrs. Hazel Moore, Winona, Mrs. Myrah Montague, Itta Bena, Mrs. Maudie Barrett, Macon, Tennessee, Mrs. Pearl Houston, Memphis, Tennessee and Mrs. Callie Braswell of Bastrop, Louisiana; two brothers, Barney Bond of Greenwood and Clyde Bond of Cruger.

Pallbearers were Marshall King, Kenneth King, Gerald Johnson, Barksdale Garner, Troy Montague and Wilburn Orr.

Honorary pallbearers were his many friends. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery.
