Kathy May McCoy-Hughes, of Rockford departed this earthly life Friday, October 14, 2011 after a sudden illness. She was born March 6, 1952 the daughter of Johnny and Rosie McCoy. She lived 6 years in Las Vegas, 10 years in Oceanside, California returning to Rockford in 2008. Kathy graduated from Auburn High School.
Kathy, leaves to cherish many loving memories, two sons, Michael (Christene) McCoy and Johnny (Vivian) McCoy; two daughters, Alisa (Steven) Robinson and Curtistine McCoy; 11 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren; two sisters, Denise McCoy and Roberta McCoy-Nuckols; seven brothers, Charles, Clarence (Cynthia), Johnnie Ray, David, Willie (Charlene), Ronnie and Sam McCoy a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends including special friends Myrl Washington, Charles Martin, Brenda Brooks, May Doss and Celestine Baxter. She was predeceased by her parents, and two sisters, Carolyn McCoy and Deloris Simmons.
Services will be held 1:00p.m. Wednesday October 19, 2011 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home 2429 W. State St. Viewing will be held from 11:00a.m. until the time of service.
