Joe was a member of the Philippi Church of God. Although he graduated from Elkins High School, his heart remained with his friends at RW High. When he wasn't fishing, hunting and making people laugh, Joe worked for Union Carbide, Pyle Auto Auction and other positions throughout his life. He was a lifelong WVU supporter. He was the youngest son of Clee and Grace Reed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Sue Cox.
Surviving are his son, David Boone; brother, Kenneth Reed; brother-in-law, Leon Cox; two granddaughters and four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A private ceremony will be held at Floral Hills Cemetery. An announcement for celebration of life will be made at a later date.
