The daughter of Edward Hipkins and his first wife Mary Ann Mills (c1810-c1844) she was baptized September 30th, 1832 at Harborne, Staffordshire, England. She emigrated to North America with her family from Liverpool, England aboard the S.S. Oakland arriving at New Orleans November 16th, 1843. The family spent a few years in the US before removing to Canada. She married Thomas Thomson (c1827-1909) of Scarborough Twp., York Co., Ontario, May 13th, 1852 at Scarborough.
