On Saturday, November 30, 2019 Delores (Dolly) Lewis died at Commonwealth Senior Living in Hampton, VA. Dolly was born the youngest of three siblings in the coal mining town of Colver, PA to Catherine (Sasko) and John Hulgus, both deceased, as is her older brother Joseph Hulgus, who was married to Doris (Sahm) also deceased. Surviving is her brother John J. Hulgus, married to Joyce Sahm (sister of Doris) of Lancaster, PA., her son, Russell Lewis, Wildomar, CA, her two grandsons, Scott Lewis, Chico, CA and Kyle Lewis and his wife Beth and great-grand daughter, Davies Ann of Albany, OR.

Dolly, along with her brothers, attended grade school across from their home in Colver, PA and graduated High School in Ebensburg, PA. After graduation, Dolly was employed as a typist at the County Court House in Ebensburg before joining the Air Force. Dolly was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base before being transferred to Randolph Air Force Base in Texas where she met her future husband, Donald W. Lewis. After Dolly was Honorably Discharged from the Air Force, she and Donald lived in San Antonio where their son Russell was born. While Donald was serving in the Air Force, the Lewis family were stationed in Texas, New York, Virginia, Mississippi, California and finally Colorado where Donald retired after over 20 years of service.

Dolly worked as a Secretary for the County of San Bernardino, CA , for NORAD in Colorado Springs, CO and as an Executive Secretary for several departments with the Air Force, the last in the Law Center at Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, VA. Dolly retired with over 20 years of service from Civil Service where she was awarded numerous citations of Excellence for her work and service to the Air Force. Donald and Dolly divorced after 20 years of marriage and Donald died in May 1985. Dolly made her home in Hampton, VA for over 45 years. She is a longtime member of the Eastern Star, Colonial Chapter #40 as well as a longtime member of the Bethany United Methodist Church, Hampton, VA and served on the Membership Care Committee and was a frequent greeter in the Commons area on Sundays.

At Dolly's request, no memorial services were held, and she will be buried with her parents at Lloyd's Cemetery, Ebensburg, PA.
