She was born on July 30, 1945, in Syracuse, to Lawrence and Velva Brown Firestone. She was a 1963 graduate of Syracuse High Schools. She then went on to the Engenie Bauerle School of Beauty Culture in Chicago, Ill. On May 10, 1969, she married Tom Hoover, who survives.
She was a para-professional at the Syracuse elementary school. She was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church on Lake Wawasee. She was always very passionate about her garden and flowers. She won multiple awards in gardening at the Elkhart County Fair.
Vicki is survived by her husband, Tom Hoover; daughter, Sara (Patrick) Moore; son, Anthony Hoover; daughter-in-law, Amber (Scott) Hardy; three brothers, Robert Firestone, Richard Firestone and John Firestone; one sister, Sue (Carl) Freel; four grandchildren: Riley Hoover, Scarlett Hardy, Dalton Moore and Sullivan Moore; and special friends, Toni and Mike Rhode. She was preceded by her parents; one brother, Dennis Firestone; and sister-in-law, Nancy Firestone.
