Woodrow W. '' Woody'' Finefrock, 83, of 2012 Madison St. Ext., Sligo, died at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, in Clarion Hospital. Born Sept. 11, 1917, in Piney Township, Clarion County, he was a son of Leslie and Ida BECK Finefrock. Mr. Finefrock worked many years in the coal mines in the Sligo area. He retired in 1979 from the former Pullman-Standard in Butler. In the past, he served many years as an ambulance driver for Southern Clarion County Volunteer Ambulance Service. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Reidsburg. Mr. Finefrock was married Nov. 30, 1935, to the former Laura Bell KLINGENSMITH, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Darlene STOCKDILL of Sligo; two sons, William Finefrock of Lakeland, Fla., and Donald Finefrock of Sligo; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He also is survived by a sister, Mrs. Gertrude NUGENT of Knox. In addition to his parents, Mr. Finefrock was preceded in death by two daughters, Lula Bell Finefrock in 1960 and Lois WENSEL in 1992; two brothers, George Finefrock and John Finefrock; and four sisters, Elizabeth BODEMA, Mable HEPFL, May LOWERS and Mary LOWERS. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Varner Funeral Home, Sligo. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Ken Southworth, pastor of the Bible Baptist Church in Reidsburg, officiating. Interment will follow in the Clarion Cemetery.
