Obituary
It is with profound sadness that the family of Charles Carlton Price, 82, of Hattiesburg, MS announces his passing on Friday, July 10, 2020 after a short illness. He shared his life for 55 years with his wife Doris, and together they raised four children. Born in New Hebron, MS, Charles joined the U.S. Naval Reserve and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Mississippi State University. He was employed by Ingalls Shipbuilding before moving to Texas for a career in the natural gas industry. He retired from El Paso Natural Gas Company in El Paso, TX and Resinall Corp. in Hattiesburg. Charles was devoted to his family and enjoyed golf and reading. He served in the Baptist church as a deacon and enjoyed teaching Bible study.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles C. Price; mother, Mary Ellen Price; and brothers, Luther Gerald “Jerry” Price and James Earl Price.

Charles is survived by his wife, Doris Cunningham Price of Hattiesburg; son, Charles Carlton Price, Jr. (Emma) of Round Rock, TX; daughter, Peggy Price of Austin, TX; daughter, Mary Shore (Troy) of Leander, TX; son, Stephen Price (Keri) of Thompson’s Station, TN; his sister, Sue Ellen Carter (Rev. Scott) of Flora, MS; and five grandchildren, Jackson Shore, Kendall Shore, Karla Price, Charles Carlton “Trey” Price, III, and Ava Price.

Due to COVID-19 limitations, a private graveside service for immediate family will be held at Highland Cemetery in Hattiesburg. The family will host a memorial service at a later date, they hope friends will join them to celebrate Mr. Price’s life at that time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, or the American Lung Association.
