Jerry was a Hillcrest gratuate, and married his teenage sweetheart, Bonnie Faught on July 14, 1969 (nearly 50 years ago). Jerry not only had a love for Bonnie but he also had a passion for his pets, fishing and golf. He worked as a school bus driver for the Springfield Public School System. The kids on his bus called him, "Mr Jerry"... he loved them as his own.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Lee “Phud” Newlon II; his father, Jim Newlon; mother, Marie (Wright) Newlon; brother, Jim Newlon; half-sisters, Annette Newlon-Trawick-Nace and Jeannie Newlon and most recently, his step-mother, Glenda Newlon.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Faught) Newlon; daughter, Rebecca Newlon-Branham; grandchildren, Danielle Newlon, Jackson and Noah Branham; great-grandchildren, Zane and Remi Branham; sisters, Judy Church (John), and Deanna Gangl (Otto), half-brother, Eddie Newlon; half-sisters, Jamie Newlon-Gierleach, and Nancy Newlon; and a host of family and friends.
