Homer Lloyd Cromer, 80, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2007, in Newark with his family by his side.
Graveside service: 10 a.m. Friday in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Homer was born Sept. 30, 1926, in Stoutland, Mo., to James Roy Sr. and Rosy Jennings Cromer. He retired from United Heat Treating of Fort Worth after 38 years of faithful and dedicated service as a quality control inspector.
He was a mentor, an inspiration and our hunting, fishing and camping buddy with a sense of humor that sometimes slipped up on you, but always made you laugh.
Homer was preceded in death by his son, Homer L. Cromer Jr.; wife, Clara Weaver Cromer; and brother, Lilburn Cromer.
Survivors: Wife, Juanita Cromer of Saginaw; son, Keith Cromer and wife, Wendy; their children, Steve Cromer, Chris Cromer and wife, Amy; great-granddaughter, Carissa Cromer, all of Newark; loving stepdaughter, Trena Chaffin and husband, Bud, of Lake Worth; their children, Darin Chaffin and Lisa Faulkner; great-grandchildren, Allison Faulkner, Austin Chaffin and Hillary Chaffin; brothers, Jay Cromer and wife, Gail, of Owasso, Okla., and Roy Cromer of Tulsa, Okla.; sister, Jenith Schweitzer of Tulsa; and many nieces and nephews.
