Retired Army Master Sgt. Francis Robert Anson Sr., 74 years old, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 1990, at Bethany Medical Center. He was born in Tecumseh, Nebraska, and moved to Kansas City, Kansas, in 1960. MSgt. Anson had served in the Army for 24 years, retiring in 1959. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. For 15 years he had been a security guard for Hallmark Cards, retiring in 1980. He was a member of St. Mary's-St. Anthony's Catholic Church and had been a volunteer cook at St. Mary's Kitchen for ten years.

He left his wife, Winifred; two sons, Francis and William; five daughters, Mary, Lynne, Patricia, Jeanne and Connie, and 16 grandchildren. Services were held and he Rosary was recited at the Werner-Reising Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary's-St. Anthony's Catholic Church, followed by entombment at Mount Calvary Mausoleum.
