He was born on September 21, 1929 to George C. and Bernice (Nicewander) Ferguson in Battle Creek. He was a 1948 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School.
He entered the United States Navy on June 15, 1948 and was discharged on June 11, 1952 attaining the rank of BT3.
Keith joined Battle Creek Gas Company in 1952 and retired 35 years later as a Service Technician. He was a member of the American Legion Oscar Brady Post # 298 in Battle Creek. Keith was a n excellent baseball player as he was drafted by the Detroit Tigers. He enjoyed coaching his son’s Little League Baseball teams, completing crossword puzzles, bowling and working out in his yard. Keith and his brother Jerry will be remembered as being partners in crime. He especially loved being with his granddaughters Kayla and Megan and his nieces Hope and Debbie.
He is survived by his wife Carol; his son, Michael (Brenda) Ferguson of Dallas, Texas, his step-son Derek (Darcy) Williamson of Battle Creek; his grandchildren, Megan (Coy) Reynolds of Texas, Keith, Kyle and Adam Ferguson all of Texas, Jennifer and Nikki Hayden both of Texas, Kayla Jewell of Grand Rapids and Kelsey Brown of Kalamazoo; his great granddaughter, Prezley Reynolds and his siblings, Jerry (Katy) Ferguson of Battle Creek and Daryl (Cheri) Ferguson of Battle Creek.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Kim and his wife Vicki, his step-daughter, Tracy Williamson, his brother, Darwin Ferguson and sister, Beulah Weeks.
A private graveside memorial service with military honors will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 2:30 pm. with The Reverend Anne Schnaare officiating.
Arrangements were entrusted to Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services 2838 Capital Ave. SW Battle Creek, Michigan 49015.
