WESTON - Marlene M. (Malone) Murray, 68, of Weston, formerly of Waltham, died unexpectedly Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at Brigham and Women's Hospital after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was the wife of Richard A. Murray.
Born in Waltham, the daughter of the late John and Rosemarie (Ellery) Malone, she had lived in Weston since 1968. She was the owner of the Ye Olde Cottage Restaurant in Weston Center from 1967 to 1999.
She was actively involved in fundraising for POW/MIA organizations.
Besides her husband, she leaves her children, David J. Murray and his wife, Jennifer, of Crofton, Md., Deborah J. Falvey and her husband, Michael, of Marlborough, Michael P. Murray and his wife, Rochelle, and Robert L. Murray and his wife, Bridget, all of Groton; her grandchildren, Brett, Kyle, Michele, Michael, Kevin, Brenna, Brady, Caitlin and Jack; a brother, Randall Osborne; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late James and John "Butch" Malone, Gail Mondene and Kenneth McCrudden.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m., from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rte. 16), Wellesley, with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m., at St. Julia's Church, Weston Center.
Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery, Weston.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p .m., at the funeral home.
