WALTHAM - Randall D. Jacobs, 49, of Waltham, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
He was the husband of Mary Jane (Anderson) Jacobs.
Born in Long Beach, Calif., son of Richard P. and Edith F. (Delpine) Jacobs of Waltham, he moved to Waltham when he was 12 years old. He graduated from Waltham High School in 1975 and from Northeastern University in 1981. A member of the football team at both schools, he was inducted into the Waltham High School Football Hall of Fame.
Mr. Jacobs earned a master's degree in business from Bentley College in Waltham and had been the general manager of the Pro/Mark division of Illinois Tool Works, Inc. at their Manchester, Conn. office.
An avid reader, he traveled extensively and had been involved with fundraising for several years for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Besides his wife and parents, he leaves his children, Christie J. Lucente and her husband, Donald M., Randall R. Jacobs, Jeanne A. Jacobs and Andrea M. Jacobs, all of Waltham; four brothers, Richard Jacobs of Bolton, Ronald Jacobs of Uxbridge, R. Joseph Jacobs of Damariscotta, Maine and Robert Jacobs of Walpole; his father- and mother in-law, Richard and Anna Anderson of Waltham; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral will be held Monday, Aug. 20, at 9 a.m., from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main St. (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall St., Waltham.
Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
Visiting hours are Sunday, Aug. 19, from 4 to 8 p.m.
