A cherished and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011, at his home in Holden at age 79. Visitation at Seale Funeral Home, Livingston, Friday, April 8, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes Saturday, April 9, from 8 a.m. until funeral services in the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Richard Wallace. Burial in Stafford Cemetery No. 1, Holden. Mike is survived by sons, Keith and Gregory Neal; daughters-in-law, Teresa, Beverly and Becky Neal; grandchildren, John Michael Neal and his wife, Janet, Jeremy Neal and his wife, Michelle, Jessica Neal, Isaac Holguin, and Chasidy Stafford and her husband, Jessie; and great-grandchildren, Noah, Gavin, Jessica, Savanna, Jessie Lee and Tye. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois Neal; brothers, Ernest and Edward; and parents, Arthur and Grace Neal. Mike was a retired civil engineer from the Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development and a longtime employee of GEC. He served as deacon of Magnolia Baptist Church and was a 32nd degree member of the Masonic Order. He was also a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. Mike devoted his life to his family, who will miss him greatly.
