Larry D. Bemis, 66, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, at Morgan Hospital and Medical Center in Martinsville. He was a resident of Martinsville. He was born June 15, 1941, in Paragon to Charles B. and Frances Helen (Arthur) Bemis. He married Marilyn Sue (Mitchell) Bemis on Aug. 22, 1959. She survives.
Other survivors include four children, Holli J. Terrell of Martinsville, A. Todd (Kim) Bemis of Bargersville, Marci K. (Fletcher) Newman of New Albany and Billy L. (Mindy) Bemis of Greenwood; a brother, James Bemis of Indianapolis; and eight grandchildren, Beau, Brooks, Ellie, Charlie, Evie and Sadie Bemis and Jordan and Quinton Terrell. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Billy Lee and Michael D. Bemis.
Larry was a devoted husband and a beloved father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. He retired in 1994 from Chrysler Corp., where he had been a machinist. He was a longtime Little League coach and loved all sports, especially Indiana University teams.
Services were entrusted to Costin Funeral Chapels of Martinsville, Indiana.
