Donald Bain arrive in New York, City, N. Y. sometime between September 15 -30th 1851 on the ship, Mary Morris, along with other members of his family.

Donald Bain and his wife Rebecca lived primarily Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia.
His usual occupation was a tailor and upholsterer according to Atlanta City Directory. After his wife's death he did live for a time in Gaston, Alabama, working
in his usual trade as a tailor.

Donald Bain, 72 years of age, of Carroliton, Georgia, died yesterday afternoon at the Confederate Soldiers' home where he was an inmate. The deceased was the brother of D. N. Bain, the well known insurance man of this city.
The funeral of Donald Bain who died Wednesday at the Confederate Soldiers' Home occurred yesterday afternoon. The funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. o'clock at the undertaking parlor of Hilburn and Poole, by Rev. J. H. Mashburn pastor of Walker St. Methodist Church. Internment was in Oakwood.
