James joined sister Janet born 1940 and then they were joined by Margaret born 1844, Ann born 1847, William born 1849 but died before 1854, Christina born 1851, William born 1854, Henry born 1856, Elizabeth born 1858, Mary born 1860 and Alexander born 1861 but died in 1869.
On the 31st December 1868 James then 27 (Blacksmith) married Margaret Laing 21 (Cotton Weaver) at High Church District of Glasgow.
James and Margaret had 3 children Alexander born 1875, William born 1877 and James born 1879. All of the children were born at Annieshill Row Shotts.
