Esther Evelyn Smith, 68, of Brenham died March 27 at her home. Funeral services were held March 30 at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with the Rev. Lynn Burling officiating. Burial followed in the Liberty Cemetery near Hanover.
Smith, a homemaker, was born Sept. 4, 1938 in Willis to Joseph and Ole Irene (Baggett) Gandy.
She married Willie David Smith Sept. 2, 1958 and he preceded her in death in 1999.
Several brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughter, Pam McKee and husband, John, of Bellville; son, Mike Smith and wife, Beverly, of Brenham; brothers, Robert Gandy and wife, Roanne and Raymond Gandy and wife, Bonnie, all of Brenham; sister, Virdie Pircher of Taylor; grandchildren, Kim McKee, Penny Medeiros and husband, Richard; Tiffany Riley and husband, Travis and six great-grandchildren, Jessica and Jonathan McKee, Nicholas and Logan Wilson and Emily Riley and Kylie Medeiros.
