Gretchen Sanders, 69 of North Fort Myers, Florida passed away on Friday, July 26, 2019. She was born on February 26, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio to William Tompkins and Hazel (nee: Rieske) Tompkins. She moved to the local area in 1961. Mrs. Sanders enjoyments include going to church, shopping especially for her family, cooking, playing with her dogs, and most of all spending time with her family. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. Her family said “she was an Angel on Earth” who loved her family.
She is survived by her loving family including her husband of 50 years, Frank Sanders; three daughters, Sherri (James) Bayliss of North Fort Myers, Shelly (Mark) Westra of North Fort Myers, Heather Vaux of North Fort Myers; son, Marcus Sanders of North Fort Myers; daughter in law, Rachel Cochran of Cape Coral; four grandchildren, Brittany (Ben) Hallock, Taylor Westra, Abigail Sanders, Jada Sanders; two great grandchildren, Aubrey and Jordan Hallock; six siblings, Robert (Linda) Tompkins of North Fort Myers, Colleen (Randy) Isacson of North Fort Myers, Laura (Fred) Johnson of Cochran, Georgia, Sharon (Larry) Tripp of North Fort Myers, Bill (Bonnie) Tompkins of North Fort Myers, Teddy (Shelby) Tompkins of North Fort Myers.
Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, August 1st at 12:00 noon, at Faith Assembly Church, 6950 Bayshore Road, North Fort Myers. Visitation will begin at 11:00am. Entombment will follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery, Cape Coral.
