George J. Rendall, age 91; beloved husband of the late Jane Lee Hughes Rendall; loving father of COL (R) Thomas H. (Joan) Rendall, William R. (Rosemarie) Rendall, and Barbara Rendall (Adrian) Hochstadt; cherished grandfather of W. Wolf Rendall, Andrew L. Hochstadt, Lauren E. Hochstadt, and Sarah R. Hochstadt.

George was born on July 22, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois and grew up on the south side of Chicago. He joined a long family line of carpenters. In 1945.

He volunteered for military service after graduation from Tilden Technical High School. He entered the Army and trained at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, before deploying with the 1st Cavalry Division to Oto, Japan in 1946, joining The Army of Occupation. He served there honorably until returning Stateside and mustering out in 1948.

George was a graduate of Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. He married the love of his life, Jane Lee in 1953. In 1956, they moved from Morgan Park in Chicago to Downers Grove, Illinois.

George relied on his strong Christian faith throughout his life. He had an irrepressible sense of humor and projected unfailing warmth and kindness. He served as the Superintendent of the Sunday School, Trustee, Deacon, and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church. George also served as a Boy Scout leader and troop committee chairman.

He worked in the HVAC industry as a Sales Engineer for almost 50 years before retiring at the age of 78.

George's retirement years were spent traveling to see longtime friends and family, gardening, restoring old furniture, helping his neighbors, and caring for his family.

George and his wife Jane, moved to Lexington Square in Lombard, Illinois in 2017. Countless friends and relatives will remember him best as, "Loyal, caring and true."

A celebration of George's life and Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois will take place once public gathering restrictions are lifted.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence, 901 Martha St., Elk Grove Village, IL 60007. Alexian Brothers Hospice took perfect care of both George and his wife.
