Richard Eugene Hyde, 88 of Johnston, Iowa passed away July 8th, 2020 at home under hospice care.
Richard was born January 31,1932 in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from Johnston High School in 1951. He was united in marriage in 1954 to Linda Danielson and together had 6 children.
He served in the Iowa Army National Guard for 43 years, retiring as a CW4. In his later years he was a devoted member of the Johnston Historical Society, serving as President for 6 years and enjoyed mowing with his grandson. He also enjoyed being a member of the 34th Division Association. He enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and ST Louis Cardinals.
Richard is survived by his children, Stan(Vicki)Hyde, Brenda(Dick) Marshall, Steve Hyde, Sharon Hyde, Janet(Rick) Bianchi, grandchildren Heather Brannan Acri, Amanda Brannan McPartlin, Skyler Hyde, Anthony and Dominic Bianchi, and 10 great grandchildren Michael, Sydney, and Nick Acri, Annie, Olivia, Finnley, RJ, and Sean Mcpartlin, Julissa Rodriguez and Liam Bianchi.

He was preceded in death by his wife Linda, Daughter Julie, his parents, and siblings.
A celebration of life and luncheon will be held at Desvelada 6550 Bloomfield Rd Des Moines, Iowa Monday July 13th from 5-8 PM. A private burial with military honors will be held at a later date at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
