AUSTIN -- Jamie Michael Scott, age 32, of DeKalb, Ill., died on Aug. 29, 2007.

He was born April 10, 1975, in Hallock, Minn., to Pam (Johnson) and James Scott. Jamie graduated from Southland High School, in Adams, Minn., in 1993, and received his Bachelor of Science Degree for Psychology from Mankato State University in the spring of 2007. He was currently enrolled at Northern Illinois University, working toward his PhD. While living in Austin he attended St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Jamie had the biggest heart and was loved by many. He will be deeply missed. A member of fantasy football and basketball leagues, he loved all sports! In his free time he loved working on the family farm with everyone, especially the young kids who did rock picking.

Survivors include his mom, Pam (Dave) Nelsen of Rose Creek, Minn.; father, James (Debra) Scott, of Staples, Minn.; sister, Holly (James) Westerman, of Cottage Grove, Minn.; brother, Travis Nelsen of Ames, Iowa; stepsisters, Lyndsay Scott, of Staples, and Amber Scott, of St. Michael, Minn.; grandparents, Loretta Nelsen, of Rose Creek, and Alvin Scott, of Crookston, Minn.; niece, Kate and nephew, Alex Westerman; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bennie and Ruth Johnson; paternal grandmother, Jackie Scott; cousins, Philip Nelsen and Terry Johnson.

Memorial services will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007 at Faith Evangelical Free Church, in Austin, with Pastor Mike Sager and Pastor Hillmore Williams officiating. The family will receive friends and visitors from 4-7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 1, at Worlein Funeral Home, in Austin, and at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Hoflander Cemetery, in rural Rose Creek, Minn.
