Christina “Tina” Rae Smith, 44, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg with interment in Highland Cemetery to follow.
She was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt and resident of Ellisville State School (ESS). Her spirit will forever live in the hearts of those who loved her.
Through the love and support of her mother, family, community, and ESS staff, Tina lived a full and happy life. She worked for many years at the vocational center at ESS, a job that Tina was always eager to return to. Tina especially enjoyed activities such as singing, eating, swinging, listening to music, playing with bubbles, and throwing balls.
Tina was preceded in death by her grandfather, C.G. Lovelace, Sr.; and her great-grandparents, John W. and Mary E. Gibson.
Tina is survived by her mother, Rosemary Lovelace; her grandmother, Mary Lovelace; her sisters, Marie (Brent) Holder, and Jenny (Tim) Burlingame; her brothers, Kenneth (Melinda) Smith, and Michael Smith. She is also survived by nieces and nephews who dearly loved their Aunt Tina.
Tina’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and residents of Ellisville State School, who were Tina’s extended family and provided a safe and loving home for her for many years. We know they share our sadness.
Visitation for Tina will be 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
