Daughter of the late Martin Henry Garrity II and Lillian McCullough Garrity. A graduate of Rider University in New Jersey, and the Massachusetts General Hospital Language Clinic in Boston, she taught at the Riverview School in Sandwich for over 30 years. She was a reading specialist, teaching students with dyslexia. Upon her retirement, in honor of her many contributions to the development of the students during the course of her career, Riverview named a wing of the school after her. Following her retirement from Riverview, she continued to tutor students in reading at Barnstable High School, and privately in her home. Before moving to West Dennis, she nd her husband lived in Brockton and Braintree. In Braintree, she was a Girl Scout and Brownie troop leader. She was also a Regent of the Braintree chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and President of the Braintree Women’s Republican Club. On the Cape, in her spare time, she was an active member of the Dennis Historical Society, and an elected member of the Dennis Republican Town Committee for many years. She was the wife of the late James Garfield Buckley of West Dennis; and mother of the late James Garfield Buckley, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Prudence H Goodale and her husband Dr. Geoffrey C Goodale of Braintree; grandsons, Geoffrey and his wife, Julie, Douglas and his wife, Sarah, and Nathaniel; three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Alexandra, and Eleanor.
