Herman Jackson Coker, 67, of the Garden Point community died later Wednesday November 23, 1988 at the Baptist Hospital East in Memphis, TN. He was a retired boilermaker, a veteran of WWII and a Baptist.
He was a member of the Dyess Masonic Lodge, which he served as worshipful master.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs Frankie Coker of the home, one daughter, Miss Sayon Coker of Manila, AR; three sons: Edwin Coker, Wayne Coker and Steve Coker all of Tampa, FL, two stepsons, Arthur Oatsvall
of Bluntstown, FL, two sisters: Mary Lou Strange of Palatka, FL, and Eloise Vaughn of Ruskin, FL, and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 1:30 PM in the chapel of Murphy Funeral Home in Lepanto, with Larry Deaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden Point Cemetery. The body will lie in state this evening from 4-9 PM at the funeral home.
Members of the Masonic Lodge will serve as pallbearers. JS
