Mr. Harold B. Adanandus, 78, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2007. Services are at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 1, at Carver Baptist Church, with burial at Doris Miller Memorial Park.

Harold was born to the late Booker T. Adanandus and Minnie Shields Adanandus and united with Antioch Baptist Church at an early age. He attended public school in Waco and graduated from A.J. Moore High School in 1944. He continued his education at Sam Houston College, where he met and befriended Jackie Robinson. Harold then entered the U.S. Air Force and served his country until 1946.

Harold returned to Waco where he met and married Mae Helen Haliburton. Harold joined Carver Park Baptist Church under the pastor, Rev. R.T. Booker. Harold and Helen have enjoyed 50 golden years of marriage. Harold loved working with and assisting all in need.

He worked in the health care industry, retiring from St. Elizabeth's with 25 years of service. Still active, Harold worked as a deliverer for the Waco Tribune-Herald, retiring in 2007 with 15 years of service and a record of perfect attendance. He also was employed by Texas Health Care from which he retired in 2007, after failing health.

Leaving to cherish his memory is his wife, Mae Helen; sons, Miles Adanandus and his wife, Kristie, and Harold Dexter Adanandus; daughters, Cindy Giles and her husband, Cedric, and Linda Sohl and her husband, Liaquat; grandchildren: Darrin, Kyreonna, Miles J., Lia and Angela Adanandus, Joreca Pullen, Tawnshei and Taiwan Ledbetter, and Corey Ellis; great-grandchildren, Taiwan, Jr, and Ta Kiyah Ledbetter; sister, Lisa Jean Adanandus, of Houston; brothers, Robert Coleman, of Austin, and Don Coleman, of San Antonio; devoted cousins: Marion Loggins, Verba Gindratt, Michael Shields, and Carl Brutus; and a host of family and friends.
