Richard L. "Dick" McCall, 67, of Curllsville, died early Monday morning, June 3, 2002, at his residence following a sudden illness. Born Oct. 1, 1934, in Curllsville, he was the son of Eugene and Virginia SMITH McCall. Mr. McCall was employed for many years as a bulldozer operator/instructor for C&K Coal Co. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, the study of genealogy of the McCall family and working on his computer. Mr. McCall was married Jan. 29, 1955, to the former Evelyn Y. HOLIBAUGH, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Randon McCall of East Hartford, Conn., and James McCall of Clarion; one daughter, Lisa D. REED of DuBois; and eight grandchildren. He also is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Roy (Betty Lou) LEASURE of Fort Myers, Fla., Mrs. Gene (Jeanne) SAY of Franklin and Sandra A. WYMAN of Curllsville. In addition to his parents, Mr. McCall was preceded in death by one son, Dennis E. McCall. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Varner Funeral Home in Sligo. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Dan George of Grace Community Church, Curllsville, officiating. Interment will follow in Cedarview Memorial Park near Strattanville.
