W. M. Underwood Blackfoot, Dies

Blackfoot, Dec. 21.-William Milo Underwood, 64, railroad employe (sic) and resident of Blackfoot the past seven months, died suddenly Monday at 10 a.m. as he and his wife were on their way to Blackfoot in an automobile.
He was rushed to a local hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Death was believed the result of a heart attack.
He was born Sept. 18, 1884, at Richmond, Utah. In 1892 the family moved to Idaho settling in the Downey area where he spent most of his life engaged in farming.
He was married to Esther Larson, April 19, 1905. She preceded him in death Jan. 9, 1942. The couple had moved to Pocatello in 1942 where Mr. Underwood was employed as a boilermaker for the railroad.
On May 13, 1948, he was married to Louise Kidd Patrick of Blackfoot and they made their home southeast of the city.
He was a member of the Second ward of the LDS church and of the Pocatello Eagles Lodge.
Survivors include the widow and the following sons and daughters: Dean and Jim, Mary and Jerry Lee Underwood, all of Blackfoot; Mrs. Ella Asher, Los Angeles; Mrs. Ada McKinzie, Los Angeles; Samuel L. Patrick and Robert H. Patrick, both with the U.S. marine corps, all step sons and daughters; and three daughters, Mrs. May Barney, Rexburg; Mrs. Ruth Egan, Arimo; Mrs. Jennie Morrison, Virginia.
Two brothers and three sisters survive, Mrs. Frank Flint, Pocatello, Mrs. Hy Parris, Arimo; and Mrs. J. M. Cunningham, Lewiston, Utah; Ray Underwood, Downey; and B. L. Underwood, Pocatello.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Downey LDS church with Bishop M. Hyde in charge. A brief service for Blackfoot friends will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Sandberg Funeral home. Friends may call Thursday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Jennie Morrison, Virginia, from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Downey cemetery.
