Larry Dean Hicks, 68, of Hutchinson, died July 6, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born November 26, 1951, in Great Bend, to James and Sylvia (Clayton) Hicks.

Larry graduated from Buhler High School in 1970 and earned his associate’s degree from Hutchinson Community College. He worked as a material handler for Eaton. Larry had his pilot’s license and loved hunting, fishing, and wildlife. He enjoyed going on missions trips with Union Valley Bible Church, where he was a member.

On May 26, 1990, Larry married Joyce Harder, in Hutchinson. They shared 30 years of marriage together.

He is survived by: wife, Joyce Hicks, Hutchinson; son, Shaun Hicks, Hutchinson; stepsons, Travis Smiley (Patricia), North Carolina, Cannon Smiley (Stacy), South Dakota; stepdaughter, Heather Smiley, Minnesota; adopted sons, Danny Blevins, Wichita, Scott Anderson (Shannon), Hutchinson; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a niece and nephew.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerry Hicks.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2020, at Union Valley Bible Church, 1916 E 30th Ave, Hutchinson, with Pastor Steve Hodgson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Elliott Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Union Valley Bible Church for missions work, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
