David Wesley Ritchie, 71, passed away on July 5, 2020 in Lakehills, Texas. He was born in Coffeyville, Kansas to Jay William and Emma Lee Ritchie on February 1, 1949. He is married to Nancy Flach Ritchie.

He went to school at Field Kindley Memorial High School. David worked for the United States Postal Service for 20 years in San Antonio. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars serving in the Air Force and was awarded AF good conduct medal w/5 OLC; AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon w/3 OLC; National Defense Service Medal; Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon; AF Training Ribbon; AF Overseas Short Tour Ribbon W/2 OLC; Air Force Commendation Medal W/2 OLC; Armed Forces Expiditionary Medal; AF Outstanding Unit Award w/1 OLC, Long Tour Ribbon, AF Organizational Excellence Award; AF Achievement Medal, NCO PME Graduation Ribbon and Meritorious Service Medal.

David Ritchie is preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Emma Lee Ritchie; step-mother, Shirley Jean Ritchie; sister, Carla Sue Mavors; and uncle, Kenneth Joe Ritchie.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Flach Ritchie; daughters, Chandra Pigman, Stephanie Dozier (Jeff), Elizabeth Crone, and Aaran Christine Gryder (AJ); sons, David Wesley Ritchie Jr. (Jessica) and William Jay Ritchie (Desirah); sisters, Janice Ritchie, Kristi Webb, Paula Webb, and Debbie Webb; brother, Joe Webb; twenty one grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Grimes Funeral Chapels, Bandera, Texas. Pastor Clifford Hargrove of Western Heritage Cowboy Church will officiate. Military Honors will be rendered. Thank you for wearing the required protection face mask at the service.

In lieu of flowers a donation to a charity of one’s choice may given in David Ritchie’s name.
