Katherine Deloris Abel, 98, of Ankeny, Iowa, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016, at her Mill-Pond Senior's residence. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 19, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Ankeny Funeral Home in Ankeny, Iowa. Burial and graveside services will take place at the Corydon, Iowa cemetery the following day at 11 a.m.
Katherine was born on September 16, 1918 at her parent's home in Wayne County, IA, the youngest of four siblings. She graduated from Millerton, IA High School in 1937. She was united in marriage to Richard Marvin Abel of Wayne County, April 13, 1938.
Katherine is survived by her two sons: Charles (Karla) Abel of Papillion, Nebraska and Donald (Sue) Abel of Ankeny; grandchildren Tina (Berry) Larson of Millard, NE and Christine Abel of Ankeny; great grandchildren, Nathan and Sean Larson of Millard, NE, Danielle (Jesse) Schaal of Lewsiville, NE and Donald and Jacob Kern of Ankeny. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard, parents Charles and Luada Markley and 3 sisters: Cleo Gillman, Leona McIntire and Harriet Bruce, along with many nieces and nephews.
