"Mrs. Miriam W Ellis of 527 Berkeley Ave , Claremont, died Monday in McCabe Rest Home following a brief illness.
She was born in Eldora. Iowa. After her marriage to the Rev. Francis Ellis, a Congregational minister, she served with him in Chicago, Ill., Detroit, Mich., Riverside, San Dimas, Honolulu, Hawaii, and Claremont. She had resided at Pilgrim Place in Claremont since 1959 She was a member of Claremont United Church of Christ, Congregational; 60- year member of the PEO Sisterhood, also a member of Chapter "0" Pomona; the Wednesday Afternoon Club of San Dimas; the Friendly Circle of the Women's Fellowship of the Congregational Church and was chairman of the Holiday Craft Group of Pilgrim Festival for 16 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter. Mrs. Margaret Limberatos of Cupertino; three grandchildren, Julie, John and David, also of Cupertino; a nephew, Richard A Silvius of Burbank and other nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p m Friday in Kingman Chapel, Claremont Dr. David M Held, the Rev. Kenneth McCandless and Mrs. Vernon White will officiate. A private service was held Tuesday in Todd Memorial Chapel Pomona.
