Kenneth passed away on Sunday January 5, 2020 at his home.

Kenneth was born November 20, 1936 and was raised on the family farm south of Hebron. He was the son of the late Christian and Clara (Ketterling) Schatz. He was educated through 8th grade at the 1-room Gerson School and then attended Hebron High School, graduating in 1954. He furthered his education at Dickinson State College graduating with a degree in Physical Education. After teaching for two years, Kenneth attended George Peabody College in Nashville, TN earning a Master’s Degree in Education. Kenneth taught 31 years as a Physical Education teacher at Jennings High School in St. Louis, MO. In addition, he coached varsity baseball and JV basketball during his tenure there. Kenneth spent his summers farming in Hebron, primarily wheat on his grain farm. He was a member of the Germans from Russia Society and a lifelong fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Lakers. Kenneth will be remembered for the love of his family and all the special times they shared together.

Kenneth is survived by and will be missed by his five children, four grandchildren, and two nephews. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his brother, Elton Schatz.
