The passing of Carl Stephen Hetherington of Zealand, NB, husband of the late Bella (Staples) Hetherington, occurred on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 15, 1927 in Coal Creek, NB, he was the son of the late Adam Hetherington and Viola (McAllister) Deveau. Carl was a carpenter most of his life, the later years he was employed with King Construction until his retirement in 1992. Carl will be sadly missed by his daughter, Gail (Andy) Check of Edmonton, AB; sister, Cecelia; brothers, Fred and Darrell (Louise) Deveau; sister-in-law, Ethel Staples; special nephew, Ewart (Sheila) Staples and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, Carl was predeceased by his sisters, Georgina and Lola; brothers, George, Walter, Lee, Arthur, Frank and Arnold and step father, John Deveau.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, March 19, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 11 am. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date.
