Josiah Goodspeed was born in Barnstable, Massachusetts in 1765. He married Susanna Marston, and they had 8 children. Several children migrated to Illinois in their adulthood, and eventually Josiah and wife followed in 1853. They did not live long after arriving. He died Feb. 1854, and Susannah died the same year.
