Ft. Wayne Journal-Gazette, Wed. July 21, 1965, p. A3. Chester Earl Shropshire, 39, of 7124 Penmoken Drive, died at 2:25 p.m. yesterday in Lutheran Hospital shortly after being admitted. He was a native of Peru and had lived here 29 years. He was employed as manager of the meat department at Kenny's IGA at Times Corner. He was a member of the First Church of Christ at Peru and was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Shirley; a son, Ritchie, at home; two daughters, Sherry, at home and Mrs. Robert Dornself, Ft. Wayne; two stepsons, Robert and Tim Englehart, both of Ft. Wayne; four brothers, Charles, Doine and Victor, all of Ft. Wayne, and Joseph of Compton, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Alton Lesh, Roanoke. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Elzey Home for Funerals, Waynedale, Rev. Clayton Gooden officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Peru. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
