Born August 2, 1931 to Mary Lee (Nantz) and Ruel Williams. She graduated from the University of Louisville and was awarded the Woodcock Medal. She was crowned Miss Kentucky in 1952. She was a founding member of the Louisville Ballet Company and owned and operated the Joy Williams Dance Studio. She gave of her time and self to many charities including the Episcopal Church Home, Meals on Wheels, St. Matthews Ministries, and to the Louisville Ballet.
She was deeply religious and was a loving wife to her husband Donald. Joy was preceded in death by her daughter Wendy and her parents. She is survived by her husband Donald Maclean Bell and her dear friends. Joy was a lovely, warm person and will be remembered with love and respect by everyone that knew her.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday the 12th of January at 10am at St. Mathews Episcopal Church on Hubbards Lane.
