Virginia G. Ratliff

Virginia G. Ratliff, 81, of Copen passed away Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, in Braxton Health Care Center after a long illness.

She was born on Jan. 2, 1926, in Gassaway, the daughter of the late Homer Holt and Audra Bell Frame Brady. Virginia was a homemaker and was previously employed by the WV Community Action Services and Kinney Shoe Factory in Glenville. She was a Methodist by faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Ratliff; one daughter, Rosa Lee Ratliff-King; sons, George Stanton Ratliff and Ezra Lee "Bubby" Ratliff. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Louise Brady (infant) and Patricia Ann Brady-Armstrong; one brother, Robert E. Brady; and grandsons, Roger Dale and Troy Lynn Keith, both infants.

Virginia is survived by daughters, Linda "Sue" Keith and husband, Hoy Jr. of Lost Creek, Judith Buford and husband, Kent, of Fort Scott, Kan., Roberta "Bobby" Murvine and husband, Jim, of Burnt House, Kay Drake and husband, Karis, of Copen, Regina "Chris" Squires and husband, Jim, of Glenville; one son, Billy Joe Ratliff and wife, Gail, of Flatwoods; two brother, Dorsey and Thomas Brady of New York; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at Stockert-Gibson Funeral Home in Flatwoods with the Rev. Larry Clifton officiating. Burial will be in the Taylor Family Cemetery, Rollyson.
