Beverly Gretchen Osborne entered her heavenly home on June 29, 2020. She was the daughter of the late John N. Osborne Sr. and Camilla Small Osborne. Her final days were spent being surrounded by those who loved her. Gretchen, as her family affectionately called her, touched each of us in some small way. Gretchen was born March 29, 1953 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

She attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and graduated in 1972 from West Mecklenburg High School. While in high school, her favorite classes were art and home economics. Gretchen loved cooking and she loved to try out new recipes on special occasions and holidays. She received Jesus Christ as her savior at an early age and knew to call on the name of the Lord. She was a lifelong member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church of Charlotte, NC. She was a member of the Musical Choir and the Kitchen Committee.

Beverly was a devoted employee of Merita Bakery of Charlotte, NC and she retired after 30 years. She loved working at the bakery and had many friends. She enjoyed movies, listening to music, reading, completing crossword puzzles and doing word searches. She loved to dance and dreamed of being a ballerina. She also enjoyed exposing her family to all different genres of music. Her favorite hobby was shopping for her family and reading her bible. She enjoyed taking care of her family especially her nieces and nephews. All of her family dearly loved Beverly.

She is survived by her six brothers and four sisters, Cassandra (Dr. Harvey) Shropshire, Pastor John N. Osborne Jr. (Cheryl), Paul H. Osborne, Marion Osborne Boderick, Marvin L. Osborne, Arnold Osborne, Aaron Osborne, Malinda (Quintin) Phillips, Dwight Osborne, Jade (Pastor Christopher) Harris. Her parents and her sister Deborah C. Osborne preceded her in death. She has several beloved nieces and nephews: Dawn Shropshire Riddick, Crystal Phillips Leath, Quintin Phillips, Mitchell Osborne, Allyson Osborne, Stephanie Osborne, Justin Harris, William Osborne, Caitlin Harris, Cristin Harris and a host of great nieces and nephews.
