Deana was raised in Shady Valley, Oklahoma. On December 19, 1958 she married Jerry Prater in Hartshorne, Oklahoma. The couple moved to Wichita Falls, Texas while Jerry finished trade school, before returning to Oklahoma. For many years she worked as a nurse’s aide in hospitals and nursing homes prior to her retirement. Deana enjoyed puzzles of all kinds, especially crosswords and word search. Time spent with her family was most important to her. She loved her family and will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
