Mrs. Laura Lynn Starr Allen
June 9, 1964 - July 4, 2020

Private graveside service for Mrs. Laura Lynn Starr Allen will be held at 10 AM Friday, July 10, 2020 at Starr Family Cemetery. There will be no Visitation. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge.

Laura Lynn Starr Allen, 56, passed away July 4, 2020 at Anderson's Hospital in Meridian, MS. She was born June 9, 1964.

Laura attended both Choctaw Central and Neshoba Central Schools, continuing her education and earning her certification in computer applications and job supervision and management. She was currently employed by the Tribal Youth Opportunity Program and previously worked for over a decade as a manufacturing trainer for the Choctaw Vocational Training Program.

Laura found great pleasure in life and in caring for others as well as great pride in her family, her work, her culture and her Choctaw language. Together, with her family she enjoyed vacation travel (with flea market and antiquing side trips), shopping, dining out, family gatherings which featured her cornbread dressing and spectacular strawberry cake, watching sports, casino nights, and her never miss Saturday morning flea market excursions with family-especially her sisters-and friends. Laura took her citizenship seriously: she was an informed voter who never missed voting in any tribal, local, state or national election.

Most of all, Laura's life was one of love, patience, kindness, generosity, and forgiveness. Her sweet smile, her brown eyes which sparkled with pleasure and humor, and her unfailing kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Scott Allen; her children, Amanda, and Matthew (Deona) and her granddaughter, Aubree; her sisters, Brenda Dixon, Sylvia Phillips, and Penny Isaac; her brother, Kenny Starr; her sister-in-law, Nell Rogers, and multiple nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Maybelle Sockey Starr, her sister, Allison Starr Abbasi, and her nephew, Bennie Stafford.
