Paul Thomas Faulkner, 74, long-time resident of Las Vegas, passed away Feb. 22, 2015. He was born in Flushing, N.Y., to John F. Faulkner and Marie Conklin. A natural athlete, Paul excelled at baseball and earned All NYC football honors at Flushing High School.

He went on to play football at the University of Rhode Island, where he earned All Conference and All New England recognition. He was eventually inducted in the URI Athletic Hall of Fame. He was also drafted in the Atlantic Coast Conference by the Buffalo Bills.

Paul was a general contractor and owner of AF Construction Co. in Las Vegas for over 40 years. He loved Las Vegas and was proud to contribute to the landscape and community of Las Vegas. AF built several hotels and casinos in the area as well as CCSD schools, buildings at UNLV, plus much more.

Paul was an avid skiier and golfer. He enjoyed participating in these activities with his family and friends as much as possible. His presence in his family and friend's lives will be deeply missed. His love, humor, generosity, and determination will be forever imprinted in our hearts and souls.

Paul is survived by his wife, Karen; his son, Paul; daughters, Susan Goecke and Marie Foster; grandchildren, Kyle, Daniel, Ryan, Michael, John, Paul, Cormack and Mia all of Las Vegas; and brothers, Michael and David Faulkner; sister, Marie Faulkner of New York.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the St. Jude's Children Hospital, www.StJude.org
