Mrs. Stallings was born on April 29, 1947, at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital and passed away on July 4, 2020, at her home in Nacogdoches after a brief illness.
Jean was a dedicated Christian wife, mother and teacher. She was a graduate of Nacogdoches High School and earned a master's degree at Stephen F. Austin University. Mrs. Stallings taught and influenced hundreds of children during her thirty five year career in public schools.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Moore, Jr. and Esterlene Blacksher Moore. She is survived by her husband, David Stallings; sons, Todd Stallings and Drew Stallings and wife, Katie; sister, Linda Guidry and husband, Bill; brothers, Buddy Moore and Tommy Moore and wife, Carla; sisters-in-law, Debra Gaston and Dayna Stallings-Ocon and husband, Tommy; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Jean was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Nacogdoches, which she loved. She was faithful to attend her Barnabus Sunday School Class.
She was a fantastic cook who loved making each Christmas and Thanksgiving special for her family using many of her mother's recipes. Jean was a member of the Koinonia Study Club and also enjoyed playing cards and "Mexican Train" dominoes with her friends. She was the epitome of a Southern Lady.
