A memorial service for Debra Jane Wilcoxson Cannon, 69, of Clifton, TX, is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
Debra passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020, in Clifton.
Debra Jane Wilcoxson was born on June 9, 1950, in Dallas, TX, to parents, L.H. Wilcoxson and Anita Lantrip Wilcoxson. She was raised in the Dallas and Pleasant Grove Community area and attended H. Grady Spruce High School. Debra married Joe Matlock and they had one child together. Joe preceded Debra in death in 1971. She later married Doug Cannon in 1972, having three children. Debra was a homemaker while she raised her children. She and Doug later divorced. For a short time she worked at the Garland Independent School District. Debra was raised in the Baptist faith. She loved to volunteer at the VFW and the Elks Lodge. As a young lady she enjoyed riding horses and loved to read. Debra made her home in Clifton to be near her daughter.
She is preceded in death by her parents, L.H. and Anita Wilcoxson; husband, Joe Matlock; brother, Johnny Price Wilcoxson.
Debra is survived by her sons, Joey Matlock of Whitney, TX, Doug Cannon and wife, Amanda of Wylie, TX, and Jamie Cannon of Arlington, TX; daughter, Melissa Wallace and husband, Gary of Whitney, TX; brother, Tim Wilcoxson and wife, Dianna of Edgewood, TX; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
