Fort Worth Star-Telegram (Fort Worth, Texas) Wednesday, 2 Feb 1955; Page 10, Column 1: " Homer A. Bass, Native Of Mississippi, Dies at 81 - Homer A. Bass, 81, of 816 Marion, a resident since 1912, died in a hospital Tuesday afternoon after an illness of several weeks. -- Bass was a native of Mississippi and was a grocer here for many years. He later was in the grain business and the parking business. He had been retired for two years. -- Bass was a deacon in Broadway Baptist Church. -- He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Fanny Bell Bass; four sons, W. A. Bass of Tulsa, J. S. Bass of Fort Worth, Homer E. Bass of Longview and Frank T. Bass of Odessa; two brothers, F. L. Bass of Fort Worth and R. F. Bass of Hattiesburg, Miss.; a sister, Mrs. Fred Heidleberg of Hattiesburg, four grandsons and five great-grandsons. -- Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Gause-Ware."
