BAUER, Sarah Louise (Sally) - nee Batty
Passed away peacefully after a short illness on January 29, 2017 in her 100th year. She is finally welcomed into Heaven by her loving husband Gene Bauer (1967). Youngest daughter of the late Clifford Batty and Ella Drake, Sally is predeceased by her eight brothers and sisters, Deborah Smith (Gord Sr.), Rev. Dake Batty, Maurice Batty, Veronica Anderson (Bill), Martina Lang (Eddie), Doris Brenner (Sylvester),Bea Duggan (Connor), and Clifford Batty (Agnes). She is also predeceased by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank (Barb), Bobby(Marg), Mary Freiburger (Ed), Ray Sr., Jerry, Alice Schmalz (Cec), Rita Huck (Jim), Rev. Dave and Therese Dillon. She is survived by her children, Regis (Wanda) and Roberta Vice (John), her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Andy (Melanie), Tim (Elaine), Monica (Alex), Nicola and Nathaniel, and her eleven grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Marg Laudenbach (Joe), Harriet, Patsy, and Tom Dillon. Sally was a member of the CWL for over 60 years, and an active member of both St. John's and St. Mary's parishes in Kitchener. Sally was loved by her many nieces and nephews, who remember her as a spirited, strong and sparkly woman. She was a constant at family gatherings with a drink in hand, a story to tell and was always the last to leave. As a devoted woman of faith, our family takes comfort knowing Sally's larger than life presence will carry on in the afterlife and in all our hearts and memories. Special thanks to Beechwood Manor, her home for the last four years, and the Stroke and Palliative teams at Grand River and Freeport Hospitals. Visitations will be held at the Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener on Friday, February 3, 2017 between 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral will follow on Saturday, February 4 at Noon at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 173 Lourdes St., Waterloo. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
