Sgt. Joshua L. Morley of Hendersonville, NC was born in Hendersonville but his father's career in the Army took the family to different cities during his 22 years in the Army before retiring in 2005. So before his own enlistment he had already traveled much of Asia and the United States. He always knew that he wanted to serve his country and his family as an Army soldier, and he used his short time in service to serve with distinction. Josh wanted to do the same thing as his dad did since he was 2 years old. He died without ever meeting his baby daughter who was born in April 2007. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart. He is survived by his wife and a baby daughter as well as his parents. Sgt. Morley was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jane Louise Morley.
