On January 18, 1988, Todd and Claudia Wilcox brought a beautiful angel into the world named Shannon Victoria. She was born in Oakland, California, and raised in Denver, Colorado. From the time she was little, Shannon always saw the good in hard situations and difficult people. She had a passion for the underdog and stood up to bullies in school to defend those who couldn't defend themselves. Her ministry started early. She was heavily involved in church youth group and went on many missions trips to serve alongside her family.
Shannon would continue to grow into a beautiful woman, inside and out, while attending Oklahoma Baptist University to pursue a double degree in Special Education and Elementary Education. While there, she met her future husband, Drew, and began dating him after graduating. They would eventually get engaged and be joined in marriage on July, 27, 2013. They were best friends and did life together--joy, hurt, and everything in-between. She also loved serving in ministry with him, as she poured into many lives of young people. In June 2017, Shannon discovered she was pregnant with Asa James, and their lives began to change. They were looking forward to delivering him in February 2018. However, on December 29, 2017, Shannon experienced a tragic and sudden unknown health complication and passed that morning at St. Francis ER. Asa was immediately taken via C-section and fought for his life for 6 days until he went to be with his mommy on January 3rd, 2018.
Shannon was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Samuel Wilcox.
She is survived by her loving husband, James Andrew "Drew" Wright of the home, her devoted parents; Todd Matthew and Claudia Domingo Wilcox of Jenks, OK, 1 brother; Clayton Todd Wilcox of Seattle, WA, 1 sister; Lindsay Nicole Wilcox of Candia, New Hampshire, her mother and father-in-law; William Raymond Wright, Jr. and Susan Lee Wright, 1 brother-in-law; William Casey Wright and her grandparents; Bernice Wilcox, Sidro Domingo and his wife Joyce, Diane Calisesi and William Maxwell.
Shannon and Asa will be forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.
