Jean Holmes Hill, 88, of Franklinton, died Friday, July 3, 2020 at WakeMed. She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Florida Ann Breedlove Holmes and Rufus Haywood Holmes and was married to K.B. Hill who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hill was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church and was retired from Schrader-Bellows (Parker Hannifin) after 37 years of service.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 o’clock Monday morning, July 6, 2020 at Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. Face coverings and social distancing is appreciated.
Mrs. Hill is survived by her daughters, Sandra H. Chamblee and husband, Wallace, of Louisburg and Linda Ann H. Hayes and her friend, Ricky Minor, of Youngsville; son, Tommy Harris of Creedmoor; sister, Betty Rose Millard of Burlington; grandchildren, Gidget Hayes, Kenneth Randall Hayes, Kameron Chamblee and wife, April, and Heather Medlin and husband, Ben; great-grandchildren, Tyler Chamblee, Layla Chamblee, Emma Chamblee, Brandon Tyler Hayes and Evangeline Ruth Chamblee who is due to be born in December.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lillian Grissom, and Virginia Wall; infant sister, Myrtle Holmes; and by her brothers, Calvin Holmes and Haywood Holmes. Many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin County Humane Society, P. O. Box 338, Youngsville, NC 27596.
Friends may visit with the family following the service on Monday and at the home of Sandra and Wallace Chamblee at other times.
